Sadev Liyanage
Writer in Sri Lanka
I am Sadev Liyanage, a young writer and creative individual originally from Colombo, Sri Lanka, born on 7 April 2008. My hometown is Kelaniya. I completed my early education at Sri Dharmaloka College, Kelaniya, and I am currently studying at Avondale College in New Zealand.
Alongside my studies, I am actively involved in media, writing, and creative arts. I currently serve as an Assistant Manager at Radical Media, where I contribute to content development and editorial processes. I also write articles for Radical Digital Magazine and have contributed to Sri Lankan national newspapers including Divaina, Monara, and Silumina.
In addition to journalism, I am passionate about storytelling through poetry, short stories, and songwriting. I have written my first original song as a lyricist, reflecting my interest in music and creative expression.
My mother, Sewwandi Jayakody, works as a school library assistant, and my father, Shanaka Liyanage, is an Assistant General Manager at Monara Newspapers. I am also related to State Minister Sisira Jayakody.
Currently based in New Zealand, I continue to grow academically and creatively while exploring opportunities in writing, media, and digital communication.
