Writer, Editor, and Content strategist in Brooklyn, NYC
I'm a content strategist, creative manager and freelance writer based in Brooklyn. Right now I'm a senior UX manager at Shopify. Before that, I led content strategy for Airbnb Experiences and creative and writing at Pinterest. Even before that, I was at The Barbarian Group.
I started my career at The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C. as a staff writer covering politics, education, and crime in Chapel Hill, Durham, and western Wake County.
My writing has appeared in the Columbia Journalism Review, GOOD, iVillage, New York, Psychology Today, Columbia Daily Spectator, and in hundreds of publications worldwide through the Knight Ridder and McClatchy-Tribune wire service.
In March 2010, I was named honorable mention to the Walter Spearman Award for young journalists for this story. In the same year, I also won a second place education writing award from the N.C. Press Association for this story. I'm a former Knight Ridder Scholar and Al Neuharth Free Spirit Award winner.
