Saeed Abu Alhassan
Saeed Abu Alhasan is a social entrepreneur who is passionate about improving the quality of life for the youth. He has been active in the fields of youth, volunteerism, and social entrepreneurship since 2008. After he graduated from Yarmouk University as a graphic designer in 2010, he decided not to take the traditional route to employment and instead follow his passion. He founded a non-profit organization called “Irbid Youth Volunteers” (IYV). Through IYV, he created a leadership youth community that worked on training and empowering the youth in Jordan by giving them a practical educational experience that brings positive changes to their own communities. In the summer of 2014, and as a culmination of the development of IYV and in the spirit of the same vision, he expanded beyond Irbid city and branded his new project “Shams” (Arabic for “sun”) with the tagline “Arab Youth for Social Change.”Saeed Abu Al Hassan has had the privilege to receive several awards and fellowships in recognition of his work, he’s the youngest fellow in the Arab World Social Innovators Program with Synergos Institute, the recipient of the Badir Award for Young Jordanian Social Entrepreneurs, and one of ten finalists for the King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement. In addition he is a freedom messenger, Global Shaper and the Founding Curator of the Irbid hub.Saeed enjoys cooking, hiking, designing and traveling whenever he can, His passion for working with youth and helping them live their dreams and building a better place to call home provides constant motivation.
