Saeeda Kasym
London
Saeeda was born and brought up in the East. Since her young age she loved singing and dancing, which was inherited mainly from her mother, who had Roma ancestors. So thanks to her mother, Saeeda began to study at the dance and music school since she was 6 years old, where she learnt singing in chorus, dancing ballet and different folkloric dances of the world’s cultures – from the fiery Spanish to the lyrical Persian. Saeeda started performing since then as both, singer and dancer. Her mother wanted Saeeda to be a ballerina, but she chose her favourite dance styles, which are Oriental and Gypsy dances, the closest ones to her inner nature. Her gypsy part helps her to make her performances so energetic, bright and unforgettable, and pass her energy to the audience.
Saeeda has graduated from the Academy of Egyptian Music and Dance and she is actively supported, encouraged and mentored by famous dancers, great masters, choreographers and teachers, such as Hossam and Serena Ramzy, Fifi Abdou, Randa Kamel, Jillina, Aziza, Sadie, Ansuya, Leyla Jouvana, Khaled Makhmoud, Ozgen and others.
She is now based in London, teaches and performs Oriental and Gypsy dances.
