Safeya Fajardo
Writer in Manila, Philippines
Hi there, I'm Safeya.
Currently: I'm a marketing professional and freelance writer.
I work as a marketing writer in Francorp Philippines, where I get to work with clients big and small—from SMEs to corporate accounts—in creating a winning marketing strategy for their franchise brand.
I get to know what makes them tick, and more importantly, find out what can I do to help them set their brand apart from the other franchises in the market.
I create marketing plans for them outlining recommended strategies, budget and so on. I also create marketing collaterals and other PR content for them from time to time.
I also work as a freelance writer in my spare time, working for online outlets such as The Jungle Post, Latinos Health and other news sites.
I also create custom content for clients such as social media content, blog posts and feature articles for SEO and marketing purposes.
I’ve been working as freelance content writer for the last five years. Most of my previous full-time employment also involved me as a writer/editor in one way or another.
I was the full-time content writer for our team, which was assigned handling client accounts such as Smart. I wrote, edited and published content for three Smart websites—Doon Po Sa Amin, Journ.ph and Smart Schools Project—and their related social media accounts during my stint there.
I also worked in an SEO company as a junior link writer, writing SEO-friendly articles and content for various brands and for link-dropping and competitive link-building. I also wrote scripts for short promotional videos (typically just under three minutes long).
Previously: I also had experience as a technical writer for a six-month contractual stint at the project management office in the Development Bank of the Philippines.
Prior to that, I was a team leader at TaskUs for a year, managing day-to-day operations of our team such as performance monitoring, carrying out action plans to meet our targets and creating reports to show team activity and trends.
What I really love: In my free time, I write short stories and novels of children’s fiction. You can see a sample of my fiction in the Engkantology Wordpress blog (http://engkantology.wordpress.com).
It’s set up by our circle of fellow writer friends way back in college. We promise—we’ll definitely update more on Engkantology.
