Saira Ghani
Student, web designer, and blogger in England, United Kingdom
I am a student, web designer, and blogger. I grew up in Eldoret, a rural town in Western Kenya where I completed my IGCSE'S.
After completing my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and English Literature I progressed to my current studies, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities at SOAS University of London. For my Digital Skills and Technology module, I have designed my own website to showcase my technological skills. You can click the button above to view my portfolio.
My interests range from travel, volunteering to hiking. I was awarded the title of 'Best Sports Girl' for three consecutive years in my secondary school. I have conquered the peaks of Mt Kenya, Mt Longonot (Kenya) and Mt Snowdon (Wales). I went on to achieve Bronze, Silver and Gold awards in The Duke of Edinburgh.
Giving back to my community is important to me. Over the years I have volunteered at several different charity organisations including Imani workshop an organisation created by AMPATH to support HIV-positive men and women in western Kenya. I also enjoyed volunteering at Sally Test Paediatric Centre and partnering with the organisation Community Grow through the National Citizens Service (NCS) with the mission to spread speed awareness and promote social integration.
During my free time, I enjoy practising mindfulness, yoga, and writing. I completed a six- week mindfulness course where I learned the power of self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
