Sally Cranfield

Massage for Babies was founded in 2002 as a provider of baby massage teacher training. The principal tutor is Sally Cranfield, who's been teaching infant massage to mothers since 1991. She's a qualified adult massage therapist and took up the gentle art of baby massage when her second daughter was born.

Sally spent 10 years teaching baby massage to mothers and carers before developing a teacher training course, specially for practitioners who prefer learning in small groups, hands-on with real mothers and their babies.

This course was approved at the outset by an independent assessor from a leading complementary health organisation. It is currently rated by Embody CThA (Complementary Therapists Association) as among the highest for those seeking continuing professional development.

The content and quality of the baby massage training course is continuously reviewed and improved, based on feedback which is solicited from every student. Frequent teaching contact with health professionals involved with infant mental health care, post-natal depression and attachment also feeds into Massage for Babies' baby massage training courses.

Sally Cranfield is a member of the Guild of Sensory Development (GofSD) and of the Association for Infant Mental Health (AIMH). She received her massage certification from ITEC (IPTI insured), her infant massage certification from GCP (now Embody CThA) and holds a City & Guilds adult training certificate.
