Salman Nizami

Salman Nizami is a Journalist. Joined Journalism in year 2004. As a Journalist , he has worked with various magazines and newspaper in India. Having reported on the huge growth of media in Jammu and Kashmir and ladakh , he now has a keen interest in the development of Jammu and kashmir with the changed security, political and economic conditions on the state, specially the effects of the kashmir conflict. He is currently working on the effects of kashmir conflict and the ladakh earth quake. He began his professional life in the media as a columnist in The TEHELKA magazine, and then started writing for Greater Kashmir, Kashmir Times, The Hindu, Asian Age, Statesman, Rising Kashmir. He later joined SAHARA television in New Delhi as Desk Editor , while continuing to work in the organization . He became Sub Editor of The Rastriya Sahara and on the other hand he was active with an international NGO . In that role, he travelled widely investigating on new developments in the media industry, taking a special interest in child and women problems including labour,marriage,poverty,education etc . He was one of the first journalists to research and write extensively about the child growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
