Salman Ahmed Shaikh has completed and submitted his PhD Thesis in Economics to National University of Malaysia. He works there as Graduate Research Assistant. He did graduation in Finance with honor Cum Laude from Bahria University, Pakistan in 2008. He did Masters in Finance from SZABIST Karachi in 2010. He did another Masters in Economics from Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi in 2014. He has worked as Research Associate at Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi. He also taught Economics courses at IBA in the BBA and BS Economics program. He also worked as part of a research team at IBA for a project on “Pak-Afghan Post 2014 NATO Exist Scenario” funded by United States Institute of Peace.
He is a published author with 19 indexed research papers along with 22 conference papers presented in international conferences in Malaysia, Turkey, Brunei, Indonesia and Pakistan. He has also contributed 7 book chapters in publications by Routledge, Springer, Palgrave, Edward Elgar and Gower Publishing. He has more than 100 citations for his work in research literature during the last 5 years since 2012 with an h-index of 7 and i-10 index of 4.
He has taught courses in Finance and Economics at undergraduate and graduate level at various top national universities in Pakistan including IBA, Karachi and SZABIST, Karachi. In professional career, he has worked for Meezan Bank, BMC Pakistan (partner of Reuters in Pakistan) and Bankers’ Academy, USA. During his career, he has also worked for ABN AMRO and Citibank for management internships. He has also conducted corporate trainings at leading multinational companies like Coca Cola.
