Sal Gonzalez

My first job was working at an after-school program in the town I grew up in. I wanted to give back to the community. I served as an after-school program provider, in which I took the love for technology and creative software to try and reach some at-risk students. After a year of teaching technology afterschool I was offered a job as the school site IT support staff. A year later the district adopted the model of hiring a site technician and I was brought on full time while still completing my duties as an after-school program provider. I worked in this community for four years.

I then took a position at a private independant school where I wore a few hats during my time there. I started out as a level one IT support staff. The following year, our network person left. I took on some more responsibilities as we did not hire another network person. The year after that we were left without a director and took on the position as the interim director of IT. I received a lot of experience during this year that I will continue to put into practice.
