Salvatore Stabile is a film and television writer, director and producer. Salvatore was born and raised in Brooklyn New York. He attended New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. Salvatore Stabile directed his first feature film, called Gravesend, when he was only 19 years old. The film was bought by Palm Pictures, a subsidiary of Island Pictures and released in 1997. Oliver Stone came on to executive producer the film after it was finished to help Sal secure distribution and finishing funds. He also recieved a deal at Dreamworks studios to write and develop several films. Since then, Salvatore Stabile has written and produced for such award winning television shows as The Sopranos, Rescue Me, Revenge, Power and Waco. His second feature film, Where God Left His Shoes starring John Leguizamo, Leonora Varela, David Castro and Jerry Ferarra, won the Humanitas Prize in the Sundance Feature Film Category. Where God Left His Shoes was produced by Paul Allen's company, Vulcan. The film was written, directed and produced by Salvatore. Where God Left His Shoes was released theatrically in 2008 by IFC Films. Salvatore Stabile is currently producing his next film, called A Civil Right. In addition, Sal is an executive producer on the upcoming mini-series Waco for Paramount Television. Waco, starring Michael Shannon and Taylor Kitsch, is the true story of David Koresh and the standoff with law enforcement in 1993. The series airs January 24th, 2018.
