Dr Samuel (Sam) Okechukwu Umealu is an Australian Scientist, Engineer, Inventor, IT Architect, Author, and Real Estate Investor.

Born in Nigeria to Igbo parents, Dr Umealu studied Chemical Engineering at the Anambra State University of Technology before completing a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy and a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. His groundbreaking work in Process Engineering has been published in leading international scientific journals, including Separation Science and Technology.

In 1992, he migrated to Australia and joined Monash University as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Process Simulation. In 1994, he transitioned from academia to the Information Technology industry, where he has since built a distinguished career.

Dr Umealu founded SamSoft Technologies (www.gosamsoft.com) in Melbourne in 1998. As a Consulting IT Architect, he has delivered high‑level technology consulting services to major commercial and government organisations, including IBM, Accenture, Capgemini, American Insurance Group, Australia Insurance Group, ANZ Banking Group, National Australia Bank, Telstra, Energy Australia, Victoria Police, and the Australian Government.

In 2010, Dr Umealu filed a patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) — Application No. US 12/941081, Publication No. US20120115438 A1 — for an invention spanning Information Technology, Data Security, Fraud Prevention, and Privacy.
In 2011, he filed a second USPTO application — Application No. US 13/071508, Publication No. US20120242686 A1 — covering innovations in Information Technology, Data Security, and Telecommunications. These inventions have been referenced by some of the world’s largest technology companies, including Apple, Google, and PCMS Holdings, in their own research and development.

Dr Umealu also holds multiple U.S. and Australian patents in Clean Technology, with additional patents pending in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Voice Metrics innovation.
