Born in the Iranian metropolis of Mashhad, Samad excelled academically as a child. At the age of 15 he decided to bring his studies to the United States where he completed his high school education in Fresno, California. After graduating from high school Samad attended ELA College in Los Angeles. For med school, Samad accepted an offer to study at UTESA Medical School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he experienced the joy of treating neurological and neurosurgical cases.
Samad Oraee has worked in New York City, Stony Brook University and Virginia. As an intern at a Jersey Medical Center, Samad worked with HIV/AIDS patients at the height of the national epidemic.
