After my mother attempted suicide I was thrust into a world where helping someone find care was very difficult. Especially when staff are overworked, underpaid, and under-resourced.

I decided that I needed to be part of the change and inspire more positive thinking and generate innovation in a sector that can be held back by funding cuts, an uninspired workforce, and community disillusionment.

This is perpetuated in systems that are designed to create our young leaders e.g. Universities that do not promote aged care as a 'real' career, under professionalisation of workers ... and more

I want to make a change where young people are involved in discussions about the future, and are inspired to be the change we so desperately need.
