As a girl I am always asked why sports. Why did I choose to major in it or why I am so interested in them. To be honest there isn't one clear answer because there is something about sports as a whole that has always peaked my interest. Being one of three girls I became the closest with my dad because of our bond over sports. Ever since I was little I would choose to go in the car with him knowing that he would have the game on.

Whenever I get stressed out from my work load or from all the activities I do on campus I always turn to sports to calm me down. The second I turn on the television to a game I immediately begin to relax.

Here in college I am one of the few girl football managers for our UMass football team and I absolutely love it. It is a huge time commitment, but I do not mind. Some of the guys have asked me why I do it, and I try to explain to them that I love just watching them practice. Being able to see the coaches help them make the necessary adjustments is so interesting because it is an insider's view to the inner workings of a college football program.

Being on the field with the players allows me to also see the various personalities they all have which is very beneficial to my future aspirations of becoming a sports agent. My parents had me watch Jerry McGuire once to see the life of a sports agent thinking it would make me second guess becoming one, but that did not deter me, it made me want it more. Whenever people find out that I want to be an agent they always mention the less glamorous parts of the job, but I feel that being the manager for the football team here at UMass is preparing me for what I might come across as an agent.
