Samantha Santana

Wilmington, N.C.

Salutations! Thanks for stopping by!

I am a student at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and with three years already under my belt, I will receive my B.A. in English (concentrations in Literary Studies and Professional Writing) with minors in Journalism and Spanish in Dec. 2016.

My passion for covering news through various technological platforms has served as a bedrock for various local internships and positions, providing me with the ability to quickly and consistently cover news worthy stories.

A background in computers, programming, interactive media, and mobile communication have provided me the ability to reach a vast array of readers while also incorporating my own fun and informative media.

I am currently the Web Editor for The Seahawk’s online news website. I also wrote bylines for WILMA Magazine, The Greater Wilmington Business Journal and Lumina News as their former Editorial Intern. I also was the Managing Editor for Her Campus, an online magazine geared towards college women, and Corrupted Cartridge, a former Independent video game blog.

I reside and am looking for opportunities in North Carolina (or remote) to further cultivate my journalistic skills, specifically within the news industry.
