Samantha Blake

My name is Samantha Blake and I am a senior, public relations student at the University of Memphis. In receiving a degree in public relations I have acquired many skills including writing articles and news releases, creating newsletters, info graphics, and brochures in programs like InDesign, how to use social media effectively, and how to conduct research and create campaigns.

Throughout college, I have also been very active in my sorority in which I have held two executive and three chair positions. All of these helped enhance my public relations skills as I gained communication, organization, creativity, social media, and leadership skills.

I also have special interests in working with graphics, photography, and video. I’ve always seemed to have the ability to pick up quickly on these because I am very much a visual person.

As I expect to graduate in May 2013, I am currently in the process of looking to move to Orlando, FL and land a job at possibly an agency. Why Orlando? I have lived in Memphis all my life and am ready for a change! If I don't make it there, then Memphis will do just fine. I’m not sure where I’m going with my career, but I am sure I made the right choice in deciding that public relations is the path for me.

When I do have free time from my busy college life, I enjoy taking photos, especially of my Pug, trying a new Mexican restaurant with my girlfriends, watching the latest movies with my boyfriend of seven years, and yelling “Roll Tide!” during the Alabama football season.
