Fashion was created so that everyone has a chance to define themselves without saying a word. As a Sophomore and Fashion Merchandising student at the University of Delaware I am still early in my path to my career, however I have had some thought about what I want to pursue after I graduate. After interning for Giorgio Armani in Boston last summer, I got a taste of what it's like to work in luxury retail. Although I enjoyed the internship, I am still unsure of whether I want to be a buyer or head in the fashion journalism direction. Writing is something that I have always felt passionate about, and the thought of combining the two art forms is satisfying to me. Through writing and fashion, a person can express themselves and reach their highest level of creativity. Event planning is also an interest that I am devoted too. Taking on leadership roles and planning events for friends, family, and coworkers is something I take pride in doing. This summmer I will be interning at Chanel's retail store in Boston where I will expand my knowledge of luxury retail. I hope that after I complete this internship, I will be able to figure out what direction I will take my career in. Boston is my home, more specifically Newbury Street, where I have, and will be interning for two summers. Newbury Street is the fashion headquarters of Boston, but New York City is where I ultimately see myself working, as I embark on this exploration to find my locus in the fashion industry.
