For the last ten years I've been on the path to becoming a professor of early American history. After obtaining my B.A. and M.A. and completing my first year of a PhD program at a prestigious university with a highly motivated advisor I realized it wasn't satisfying me intellectually, professionally, or emotionally. I decided to make a triumphant return to Michigan. For the first time, in a long time, I feel like a blank slate. I am working on my creative writing, contemplating auditioning for community theater, exploring job opportunities, and looking into Masters programs in education. I still have a passion to educate while entertainig, whether that be through museum displays, books and stories, or in front of the classroom. Learning should be a creative process and I excited to continue my own education while educating others.
