Samantha Westheimer
My name is Samantha Karly Westheimer. I believe my name is unique, not only because Karly begins with a "K" rather than the typical "C", but also because it has always been one of the longest names in my grade. There are many other interesting facts about me that usually surprise most people to discover. For example, I was originally born in Melbourne, Australia and lived there for seven years. All my family resides "down under", so luckily I get to go visit every two years. My plan is to eventually study abroad in Melbourne, so I can experience living there as an older and more mature person. Moving to America at the age of seven was scary, but I have seemed to manage this far.
Living in Atlanta, Georgia for the past twelve years I have blossomed into a well-rounded human being. I work extremely hard to show my full potential in the classroom, I play volleyball allowing me to stay fit, and I love singing. Singing helps me express my artistic side. With all of this in mind, my number one priority is my family however, is my family. Raised in a household where love was not hard to find, I try my best to extend that feeling towards my friends and those who are close with me. I am a genuine person who thoroughly enjoys helping my friends, not to receive praise, but to just be there for those people who show kindness back. At the University of Georgia, nearly every person I have met has expressed such kindness to the point that I feel as if I am home. There is no doubt in my mind that UGA was the best fit for me, and I honestly cannot wait to experience the next four years.
