Samayullah Niazi was born on August 24, 1976,in Kabul, Afghanistan,holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur-India, and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Balkh University Medical Faculty in Afghanistan. He is a seasoned public health professional with over 20 years of progressive experience in health systems strengthening, monitoring & evaluation, data management, and capacity building.

Recently serving as a Provincial Monitoring & Evaluation Officer with the World Health Organization (WHO) since November 2021, Mr. Niazi previously coordinated the COVID-19 response project with Just for Afghan Capacity and Knowledge (JACK) NGO (2019–2021). From 2004 to 2019, he held several key leadership roles with Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS) under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), including Provincial Technical Manager, Program Officer, HMIS Officer, and Training & Capacity Building Coordinator.

He is certified in ISO 9001:2008 & 2015 Quality Management Systems (Auditor, Lead Auditor, and Implementer) and has undergone extensive professional development in leadership, strategic management (MLDP), M&E, data analysis, HMIS, statistics, and project planning. His technical toolkit includes MS Access, Excel, and health information systems, with strong expertise in proposal/report writing, community-based research, and training of trainers (ToT).

With a deep commitment to public health and community development, Mr. Niazi is also passionate about lifelong learning, volunteering, and knowledge-sharing.
