Sam Blackman

I am a pediatric hematologist/oncologist and pharmacologist turned cancer drug developer. Based in Philadelphia and currently working for GlaxoSmithKline as a Director in the Oncology Early Development Unit, I share my world with my wife and daughter, a couple of really neat Abyssianian cats and a somewhat anxious Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

On the occasions that I'm not thinking about science and ways to treat human cancer, I'm doing one of the following things: trying to come up with new and compelling stories for my 4-year-old daughter, reading police procedurals, working out at the gym, mowing the lawn, scanning MetaFilter, planning our next vacation, figuring out what to fix next on our 100-year-old house, strategizing with my wife (about said 4-year-old-daughter), or listening to public radio.
