Sam Braverman
I grew up in New York City, thank god. Now I live in Bloomington. I went to Ethical Culture in Manhattan for primary schooling which is really the base of my cv, Fieldston for High School and am now working for a piece of paper at Indiana University, in the cornfields.
I didn't do summer camp, I played rock music on buses with kids a million times better than me playing music I wasn't nearly grown up enough to even listen to. Between the first time i got onstage to sing a Led Zeppelin song at CBGBs at age 12 and now, I've played hundreds of concerts some in really cool places like baseball stadiums and the rock 'n' roll hall of fame with the classic shitty bars which told me I wasn't old enough to play there and still let me.
Then I got more serious about cooking, graduated high school, got a job working at and eventually managing (what I thought) was a really good, trendy, Taiwanese spot down by the Bowery. I learned from this job to not search for employment from people you think would be fun to hang out with cause they smoke weed with Tony Bourdain on TV.
