Samera Yousuf is a senior at the University of California San Diego where she is pursuing a degree in International Studies in Economics/Political Science. Her experiences as a first generation Afghan-American have sparked her passion in the realm of international affairs and her involvement in activist organizations has informed them. Samera was accepted as a 2012 fellow for the Public Policy and International Affairs fellowship program at Carnegie Mellon University and her post-graduate plan is to work for a think tank in Washington D.C.
