I am Samfire, an alt-pop singer who always manages to find melodrama in the everyday.

My music is dreamily psychedelic alternative pop that bleeds with vulnerable lyrics. It should pull you into the extremes of feeling and of sound, simultaneously intimate and immense.

Samfire's Story

I came to songwriting through music production, first teaching myself to use Ableton during the lockdowns of the pandemic. Soon after, I released my first EP ‘Time’, a project full of longing and introspection. Now, I am onto my second EP ‘Possible Strangers’, a synthy alt-pop work which introduces you to a number of strangers I met on a trip to LA. There's ‘Possible Stranger’, a song all about the anticipation for going to an unfamiliar place and meeting new people. ‘Temper’ comes second, a moody tirade against a misogynistic border control officer I encountered on my arrival. 'Hallucinating Hollywood' explores the City of Angels and the way it leaves you feeling. ‘Tarot’ tells the bizarre tale of a tarot reading I had in LA. And finally, ‘Mr X’ introduces you to my best friends ex-boyfriend (thank God)!

Samfire's Recent Excitements

This year, BBC Introducing Suffolk named Samfire one of their ‘Ones To Watch’. They have also invited me to play Latitude Festival this summer. Past gigs of mine include The Bedford, Kings Place, The Camden Club, Wilderness Festival, The Notting Hill Arts Club and many more.
