There was this time that I was walking down a beach. The sun was setting and the sky was a brilliant orange purple hue. As the ocean crashed against the beach, I realized that with every step I took there was someone following right behind me. The funny thing was that when I turned to look a giant sea turtle was right following in my footprints.

I'm not going to lie, I thought I was dreaming. Especially when the turtle started to speak. He started to tell me that we were in great danger. The land dwellers were in great danger of becoming extinct with the way we were living our lives. Perplexed I tried to explain to him that we had it made on dry land. We had science to help keep us healthy, well-nourished and entertained. We could watch whatever form of entertainment whenever we wanted, and that at any given moment, if I was bored I could travel all over the world by simply going online and connecting with people halfway around the world. We have cars and clothing and video games that could fulfill us along every step of the way.

That's when he stopped my techno-rant and asked me if I have ever been surfing or if I had been fishing lately, or just floated on the water. He asked me when I had last felt the feel of the sea breeze on my face as I watched the sun rise in the east? I started to think about everything that I had at my fingertips and realized that the only thing I didn't have accessible through my computer was the real world.

Have you been into the real world?
