Community based advocacy in NY
I’ve spent over two decades doing work that actually matters, fighting for communities that are too often overlooked, under-resourced, or unheard.
My career has taken me from the halls of the New York City Council to the streets of Brooklyn, from the grassroots organizing rooms of the ACLU in Nevada to the boardrooms of nonprofits fighting for civil rights on a global stage. Whether I was helping small businesses survive a pandemic, securing millions of dollars for arts education in New York City’s budget, or leading a campaign that changed the law on smoking in public parks, the throughline has always been the same: I believe in the power of people and the importance of showing up for them.
Right now I serve as Chief of Staff at UNITED SIKHS, where I work alongside global leaders on civil rights advocacy, humanitarian response, and coalition building across borders. Before that, I spent four years at Queens Economic Development Corporation directing neighborhood revitalization efforts and managing multi-million dollar recovery programs for small businesses across some of the most diverse zip codes in the country.
I’m a strategist, a coalition builder, and a communicator. I know how to work inside complex institutions and alongside scrappy community organizations, and I bring the same energy and commitment to both. I’ve led teams, managed budgets, written legislation, organized volunteers, and sat across the table from elected officials to push for change.
If you’re building something that puts communities first, I’d love to connect.
