Sammie Stevenson

Teacher in Ontario, Canada

I have a passion for teaching, working with children and involving comedy and television whenever I can.

I have wanted to be a teacher for my whole life, though I must admit there were times I thought I could manage a career as a singer, actress and writer during my summers off. Not sure where the logic was there but I have continued to work on my skills in the arts (just in case or whatever). I went to an arts high school for drama, majored in cultural studies at Trent and have created small-scale films and theatre productions along the way. I admire creative and nice people and I hate the rest. Kidding, I actually like most people and I try to get along with everyone.

I like fun things like cartoons and children's books so I'm pretty popular among the kids in my classrooms. Everyone wants me to sit with them at their lunch table! I love haikus and I've written a few haiku books (mostly about inside jokes), but I'd love to write at least one fully-illustrated picture book for my future students (maybe even once a year!?).

And one time I won an award at a bar, but more on that later.
