Sammy at Seize each day...
’40 something and heading into 2015 with a ‘Carpe Diem’ kinda attitude!’
I’m a Post40 blogger and that’s all I shall divulge about my age (need to know basis) … I’m new to blogging (late Dec ’14) and finding my way around this whole exciting new world – who knew?!
I started my blog Seize each day, as my way of recording primarily my weight loss/healthy lifestyle journey at the beginning of 2015. Being a mum to a now 10 year old boy, MasterB, I think I’ve lost my way (as many of us do). Who am I (don’t want to be just a wife and mummy as lovely as they are)? What’s my purpose in life? Accepting I’m 40 something in a positive way and the difficulties of losing weight that come with that!! Loving myself again and accepting who I am.
I know I’ll go off at tangents (that’s another bone of contention; remembering what on earth I was doing just walking from one room to another, or what I was saying) and so will be blogging about our little piece of Dorset Heaven, my love of photography (I’m just an amateur, but wanting to get better) and I’m sure lots more on lifestyle. Oh and no doubt my love of bags, scarves and jewellery will also make an appearance as well as other things that take my fancy.
My husband (MrD) and I have a mantra ‘Life’s too short for mediocrity’ … in other words, we want to be the best versions of ourselves that we can be… we also like nice things *grins*. Life’s way too short to get into a rut of doing things that you really don’t enjoy! When you’re reading that book and just can’t get into it – what’s the point? Stop and pick up another (life’s too short to sit reading a book you’re just not enjoying); enjoy spending time with family and friends who we have fun with and are like-minded (not those ones who drain you of your energy); enjoy life to the absolute fullest and get up and SEIZE it each and every day.
Myself and MrD – Crete 2014
So, a little bit about me … I’m Sammy and am a born and bred Dorset girl – soooo lucky to live in this gorgeous part of the world.
I met MrD in 1997 and we married in ’99 – he’s a wonderful and very patient man *giggles*. We have one son MasterB who is ten and means the absolute world to both of us.
I have a background as a legal secretary (gosh that was many many moons ago), PA at Director level in a huge International private fitness company and currently work part-time in PR and Marketing. We are all a
