Samori Toure
Student and Volunteer in Brooklyn, New York
I am currently an Administrative Assistant at Lazard Asset Management in Manhattan, NY, and a paralegal at BEC NEW Communities in Brooklyn, New York. I will be attending CUNY School of Law class of 2020 starting in the fall.
In addition to my dream of becoming an entertainment lawyer, I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. It began in 2012 when I negotiated a four event contract with Brooklyn's historic Electric Warehouse - aka "The Lab". These events provided a safe space for NYC youth to congregate and listen to music. Each party welcomed over 1,000 patrons, and grossed more than $100,000 in total. This exceptional experience not only taught me how to successfully work with a team, it also paid for majority of my undergraduate degree at Hampton University.
While at Hampton I co-founded "Keep the Vibes", an organization that gives underrepresented artist a platform to showcase their talent. Since 2013 "Keep the Vibes" hosted six art shows throughout NYC that have highlighted different mediums such as poetry, singing and graffiti.
My love for education and for furthering my knowledge is a crucial part in diligence to excel at any task.
