Samrat Baul

Samrat is not what a conformist should be. He is a disruptive thinker and leader, passionate about making things simpler in this ever-complicating World.

Samrat has led multi-national design teams for Silicon Valley start-ups and Industry giants creating applications to make life easier.

One of his most recent accomplishments was the creation of (probably) the World's first truly multimodal mobile application - letting users interact anyway they want - type, gesture or just speak!

An extra-keen observer, passionate simplifier, avid linguist and insane nature photographer, Samrat believes in doing it the hard way but the right way. His user research interests continue to center around the most basic tenets of human interactions.

Samrat has spoken publicly on numerous occasions on subjects close to his heart - Speech User Interfaces, Interactions across Channels and How to make information plain simple easy to understand.

He has a patent for an intuitive, predictive application design paradigm that he created with his mentor.

Samrat has a MS from the Rochester Institute of Technology specializing in Software Application Design and a BA in Economics from St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi.

He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his lovely wife, Arundhati, a Neurobiologist by daytime and their most prized creation, their daughter, Ayana.
