Samra Zaheer

As a first year journalism student at Ryerson University, I hate to admit that J-School wasn't my first choice. It was Plan B, a thought always lingering at the back of my mind. Plan A was to study medicine and practice gynaecology in third world countries. Fortunately, I settled with Plan B.

With a passion for reading novels, investigating feminism (or lack thereof) in third world countries, and writing just about anything and everything, I'm looking forward to a journey filled with endless learning. I want to use my experiences to teach others, hoping that they'll continue paying it forward.

In the near future, I dream of writing and reporting for a broadcast news station or a popular newspaper and in the long run, I'd like to produce some documentary scripts. As an aspiring journalist, my ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between my writing and my audience.
