Sam Riddle
Student and Musician in Athens, Georgia
My name is Sam Riddle and I’m from Cleveland, Tennessee. I go to the University of Georgia now, and I’m here because I love to make music. It all started in sixth grade when I heard the band play for the first time. I decided that that’s what I wanted to do. Ever since then I’ve taken as many opportunities as I could to play the trumpet in all different settings. I would go from auditioning for various honor bands, to attending extensive music camps over the summers Such as Interlochen or Interharmony. Many of these opportunities were brought to me once I started taking lessons from Dr. Nathan Warner from Lee University. I have gained more experience from him than I could’ve ever Imagined. He let me play in the brass choir at Lee and even took me and a few others up to Italy to play. All of these experiences have led me to love performing, whether it be with my marching band at the high school, or with the Chattanooga Symphony Youth Orchestra at the Tivoli Theatre. All of this led me to study at UGA so I can become the best possible performer that I can. All I want to do is to keep performing at higher and higher levels until I’m at the top. One day I hope to perform in a Broadway show, but I still have a lot of work to do before I get there. So that’s where I’m at in this never ending musical journey of mine.
