Sam Thapaliya is a Nepal-born serial entrepreneur, programmer, and investor, best known as the founder of Zebec Protocol and co-founder of ASMI. As a multi-time founder in the Web3 and fintech space, he has built and scaled companies focused on next-generation financial infrastructure, generating millions in revenue while driving innovation in decentralized systems.
From an early age, Sam developed a strong interest in technology and began programming as a teenager. Growing up in Nepal, where access to traditional financial systems can be limited, he experienced firsthand the inefficiencies of legacy finance. This early exposure shaped his long-term vision of creating more open, accessible, and programmable financial tools.
As a Web3 entrepreneur, Sam has played a key role in advancing the adoption of decentralized finance (DeFi). Through Zebec Protocol, he has helped pioneer continuous payment solutions that enable real-time payroll and streaming finance, addressing limitations in traditional payment systems. His work has contributed to raising over $35 million in funding and building scalable blockchain-based infrastructure on Solana.
In addition to his work as a founder, Sam is an active angel investor, supporting early-stage startups across Web3, fintech, and emerging technologies. His work focuses on bridging traditional finance with decentralized ecosystems through practical, user-focused solutions.
