Fancy Rice Cooker
This is my first fancy rice cooker with a display and timer.I have used other rice cookers before, the microwave ones and the $10 ones fromBBB and I wasn't particularly unhappy. I guess the buttons and digital displaymade me buy this.
Love this thing, when my rice cooker AND slow cooker died inthe same week I decided to give this a try and I am so very glad I did. I makesoups and rice in it mostly, but I also used it to cook a steak (tougher cut)and even a piece of salmon; both turned out perfect. It took some time to getused to and I had to look online for times and how much water to use but itseasy to pick up on.
I have been using this 2-3 times a day for the past severalmonths with no problems. A quick cleaning and I can add brown rice, quinoa, oranother grain, set the timer, and have it ready when I get home from work.
I've had this rice cooker for quite some time already and itworks pretty well. If you don't have a microwave, the rice comes out perfectlydone and very convenient to reheat old rice.
The cooker does not keep rice as warm as I'm used to. Thecooker boils very hard it seems, meaning the pot gets hotter than other cookersdo; I've noticed that the rice at the bottom of the pot tend to dry and crispinto a thin layer every time.
Easy to clean up and the best feature of all is thebeautiful stainless steel (no non-stick) interior. Wish Instant Pot wouldpublish a book of recipes for this machine; however, using other books is noproblem.
The biggest con is that the bottom and sides of the rice arebrown and crispy where they touch the pot. I always cook brown rice, so I'vestarted using the white rice setting and this has helped a little, but it'sstill a problem.
