Hey, I’m Sam. I live in Swansea and I am currently studying AS Levels in Psychology, Economics and Geography at Gower College. I love participating in all sports, particularly rugby. I am also a fully qualified WRU referee. I express my passion and enthusiasm for sports off the field as well as on it by volunteering at local sport events for all ages, abilities and types of people in my role as a Gold Young Sport Ambassador. I also volunteer at my local Barnardo's charity store every Saturday morning. During my school days i was also a 5x60 officer, which involved me promoting an hour of physical activity five times a week to my peers, on the school council, sports council and I was curriculum ambassador for Physical Education. I was also a pupil governor which involved me representing pupil voice to the school's governing committee. I hope to go on to university in the near future to study psychology, preferably in a neuroscience field. I am currently fundraising to support my trip to the Canadian Yukon this Summer, where I will be trekking for 3 weeks whilst I carry out scientific research and trekking Caribou, Moose and Elk. Through all these activities I have developed communication, listening and problem solving skills as well as improving my confidence and working well in a team and individually.
