Samuel Shuebrooks

For the last five years, Samuel Shuebrooks has served as a mechanical engineer with the United States Merchant Marines in Washington, DC. In this capacity, he operates as a qualified member of the engine department (QMED), conducting engine room service and providing assistance to other engineers. Samuel Shuebrooks maintains responsibilities across a number of areas, including data recording and equipment operation. In addition to assisting the ship engineer with machine adjustments, Mr. Shuebrooks completes duties as a cook and deckhand. He cultivated further operational experience through his position as a QMED with Maersk Line in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In 2010, Samuel Shuebrooks graduated from the Piney Point, Maryland-based Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship, where he completed basic military training. Upon graduation, he earned his merchant mariner’s document and transportation worker identification credential.

An active member of his community, Mr. Shuebrooks has dedicated time and resources to a number of charitable organizations. A volunteer builder with Habitat for Humanity, he has also provided hands-on assistance to the Christmas in April building project.
