Artist in Memphis, Tennessee
Born with a creative aptitude and a flair for the aesthetically pleasing, I have spent my life seeking and making art. At one point, I owned a store called, Handid, where I sold a mix of handcrafted products, both fine art and fine crafts. I have always drawn and painted, even as a little child. In addition, I have made life-size and lifelike soft sculptures of humans, made pianos and cacti from foam-core; wall-hangings and screens from wood and fiber. I have designed costumes, mascots, signs, evening bags, gift wrap, and florals. I've turned concrete slabs to natural stone finishes, sheet rock to brick pub walls, and hand painted floors. Store display is one of my favorite endeavors. Loeb Properties, and Coca Cola commissioned me to paint murals on high profile exterior brick walls in 2001-2002. I participated in The Brooks League Art Show for three years, and The Pink Palace Crafts Fair for four. 'Magical Realism' is my style. I am self-taught.
Along the way, I have been in sales and marketing. I had a wholesale company called, On the Road Again Gifts, where I sold children's accessories and jewelry. I traveled six states, much like the 'jobbers' did in the old days. I was the Marketing Director for The Desoto Business Report. At various times have sold printing, advertising, furnishings, clothing, murals, paintings and photography.
My passion, my purpose on Earth, is to paint. Everything I do is to get me in front of a canvas...I am an artist.
