Sana Issa

London, United Kingdom

I am a fully bilingual (English and Arabic) news editor with a specialist knowledge of the Middle East and more than 20 years experience working in broadcast and print media. I have excellent news judgement and communication skills and an ability to take fast and accurate decisions while effectively managing international resources. This includes understanding the geopolitics of the region and the main players in the stories.

A proven manager of money and operations, my experience also includes running Newsweek magazine’s Beirut, Lebanon bureau during the high-pressure period of the country’s civil war. I have also just completed a Master’s degree in Middle Eastern politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies and am now seeking a new professional role where I would like to transfer all my journalistic and operational skills into inspired political, humanitarian or inter-cultural projects.
