Sandi Grivat is an independent leadership and communication coach. She helps leaders grow across critical domains—communication, self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management—so they can lead from a place of grounded optimism and achieve desired results. Sandi also serves as a consultant to executives establishing or enhancing their communication platform, process and programming. Sandi holds a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designation with the International Coach Federation, is accredited with the Hay Group emotional intelligence instrument (ESCI), and is accredited in Public Relations (APR) with the Public Relations Society of America. Before starting a coaching and consulting practice in 2011, Sandi was the Vice President, Executive Communications / Coach for the Executive Vice President of GE Financial / Genworth, for whom she translated a deep proficiency in communications into effective coaching and skill building. Prior to moving to Richmond, VA, she lead a team of communications professionals at Fannie Mae—during prosperous and tough times—to manage the company’s leadership development, employee engagement and social responsibility communications. Before that, she worked with economic development leaders in Arlington, VA to promote the DC suburb as a premier location for business. A native of south Louisiana, Sandi began her career in 1994 with the Lafayette, LA, Chamber of Commerce, where she helped organizational leaders increase effectiveness in generating support for the Chamber’s priorities. Sandi earned a Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University and a Master of Science in Public Relations from the University of Louisiana—Lafayette. Sandi’s own transformation through yoga drives her to give back to the local yoga community. She serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board for Project Yoga Richmond—a nonprofit organization that believes that yoga has the power heal and strengthen individuals and communities, and works to make yoga accessible and affordable to all. When she’s not helping leaders expand to their biggest and best selves, Sandi can be found balancing on a yoga mat, or exploring her surroundings at the juncture of the James and Chickahominy rivers in Williamsburg, VA. Sandi lives there with her husband, Dave, and their (four-legged) daughters, Sukhi and Tosca, both Hungarian Vizslas.
