Sandra E Varona is a Los Angeles-based Film, Music Video & New Media producer with over 8 years of experience in the industry. Varona began producing while studying Film & Television at the age of 19 at Los Angeles Community College. During that time she also founded the Varona Film and Television Club (VFTA), which provided students with film production resources and group tours to film/art related companies such as Panavision and Cinegear.

At the beginning of her career, Varona volunteered at several film festivals and renowned production companies, such as The Los Angeles Film Festival, MUN2, SMPTE, LALIFF, Entity FX, NALIP just to name a few. Soon after, she began production assisting/coordinating for some of these entities, using that experience to launch a producing career.

In 2008, Sandra received the Panavision New Filmmaker Grant, which gives a promising filmmaker a full Panavision camera package. Varona utilized the 16mm Panavision package to produce her first music video, Bailando.

Since then she has conquered music video production via her own company, Varona Productions, having produced over 25 music videos for artists such as El Roockie, Kinky, Vaughn Anthony, Grammy Nominated artist Eric Roberson and rap artist Waka Flocka.

In October 2010, Varona began her participation in Film Independent’s Project: Involve as one of only 33 filmmakers selected for a year-long mentorship program.

In January 2011, she served as the Unit Production Manager for the most anticipated Sundance feature film, FILLY BROWN, starring Gina Rodriguez, Lou Diamond Phillips, Edward J. Olmos and Jenni Rivera.

In addition to producing, Sandra was Film Festival Director in 2012 for the Boyle Heights Latina Independent Film Festival. Sandra brought 3 powerful films directed by celebrities Eva Longoria, Eva Mendez and Zoe Saldana.

Currently Sandra is in production on a documentary titled, For the Record about the roots of Latinos in Hip Hop.

Sandra also dedicates her time as a Production & Crew Manager for Central Services at Maker Studios, helping maintain and establish production protocols.
