Sandra Zinn

I started my career as a public librarian in various City of Cape Town libraries before entering the school environment where I worked for 11 years as a teacher-librarian. I taught German as a foreign language and I managed the school library programme. During my stay at Livingstone High School in Claremont , Cape Town , I completed a Masters degree in library and information studies. In August 1997 I joined the Western Cape Education Department as a curriculum advisor for Information Literacy Skills. Whilst working as an advisor, I facilitated numerous workshops within the Western Cape , in KwaZulu-Natal and the North West Province training educators at all levels from teachers to advisors in Information literacy. I wrote material, participated in the production of a film Plugging in to technology (WCED) and I presented papers at local and overseas conferences, a journey that introduced me to the International Association of School Librarianship (IASL). I am currently enrolled at University of KwaZulu-Natal for PhD studies.
