I am a postdoctoral research fellow in the Transnational Justice Impact on Democratic Institution-building project funded by the ESRC and the NWO. I am currently comparing the transitions in Japan, East Germany, South Korea and Hungary. The principal investigators of this project are Anja Mihr and Chandra Sriram.

I am also interested in the role of religion in the construction of social memory of atrocities and processes of transitional justice from below. My book 'Religion, Social Memory and Conflict. The Massacre of Bojayá in Colombia' (2015), London: Palgrave Macmillan, is based in my doctoral thesis.

I obtained my PhD in sociology at the University of Aberdeen, where I was part of the Leverhulme Programme Compromise after Conflict and was supervised by Prof. John Brewer and Dr. Cristina Flesher.

I have taught courses in sociology, religious studies, religion and conflict in Latin America, and research methods.
