Sandra f. Sawaya

As a scholar... I am an advanced doctoral student in the Educational Psychology and Educational Technology program at Michigan State University. My research interests involve informal learning using mobile technologies and the implications of such devices on learning. I am also interested in designing technology-rich learning environments for higher education. I am mindful of how design influences the learning process.

In addition to being a full-time student, I am an instructor in the Master's in Educational Technology program, an instructional designer at the CEPSE/COE Design Studio, and a user experience researcher intern at Usability/Accessibility Research and Consulting at Michigan State University.

On a personal note… My interests are varied; informing and motivating my academic interests. They range from architecture, typography, calligraphy, data visualization to social psychology, anatomy, math, and physics.

On a more random note… I like a well structured environment but I also work well in organized chaos. I like all things elegantly simple and I love shades of gray. I quite frequently quote from novels by Chuck Palahniuk. I make a lot of lists and take a lot of photographs of buildings, streetlights, and doorways. Coffee drinker. Sheltie owner.
