In my current position as co-founder and CTO at Buzzyears Inc, I am responsible for ensuring that the company's technology strategy serves its business strategy and oversee the long-term technology direction along with the architecture, development and operation of the software and systems powering Buzzyears’s ever-growing user base. I am a seasoned entrepreneur and leader with a strong history designing and delivering new products to emerging markets. Very early in the startup phase, established and managed agile process crosscutting project planning, product, engineering and support. Built the engineering and support organization comprising of offshore and onshore teams. Also, actively recruited, motivated, and retained talent in a very competitive environment. Scaled the technology team by designating engineers in the team as 'Technical Leads' and delegating to them the work of guiding more projects, which enabled us to grow the business.
Previously at Tapjoy, spearheaded the development of a multi-million dollar online advertising and virtual currency monetization business for social and mobile applications, serving millions of users worldwide. Earlier in the career, spent over a dozen years in various technical and leadership positions at companies such as Oracle, Informix and Ericsson. I have a Bachelors and Masters in computer science.
As a Cloud Architect successfully delivered several large-scale web applications that have been designed with cloud principles in mind. Responsible for capacity planning and performance tuning to strike balance between scalability and response time to get good performance of the applications. Led the effort to identify and iron out scaling bottlenecks, including eliminating centralized architectural components, making high latency components run as background jobs or execute asynchronously with queuing and understanding the behavior of the application whether it is IO or CPU bound, which are vital to eliminating architectural bottlenecks. Ensured each layer in the multi layered architecture is scalable by leveraging noSQL as needed, adopting sharding in database layer and achieved linear scalability across the tiers.
