Santanu Sengupta is an accomplished senior Global Banking executive with three decades of rich experience driving business growth, governance, risk management, strategy and transformation at leading international banks. As former Managing Director, Regional Head, and Member of the APAC Executive and Risk Committees at Wells Fargo Bank, based in Singapore, he led diverse, cross border teams and business across 15 countries, delivered robust P&L results, and effectively managed complex risks & regulatory compliance.
Prior to Wells Fargo, he held senior leadership roles at Credit Agricole CIB, HSBC, and ABN AMRO Bank, where he cultivated C-suite relationships, earned prestigious client mandates & delivered strategic transformations. Notably, he helped establish India’s first-ever Global Capability Centre for ABN AMRO in 1999, a pioneering move in the industry.
He now serves as Advisor to Boards and Start ups in Deep Tech, Cyber Risk Management, Fin Tech & Climate Tech, adding contemporary expertise in AI governance, cyber resilience, ESG stewardship and digital transformation.
An MBA from FMS, Delhi and Certified Board Director from KPMG and the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Santanu is also a Fellow of Institute of Directors (IOD), India. He brings deep expertise in Banking, Capital Markets & Fund raising, Global Payments & Trade, ESG, Risk Management, People Strategy, Talent & Culture Stewardship and Macro Economics.
