Santhosh Joseph

My name is Santhosh Joseph. I was born in a traditional Christian family in Kerala State, India. My father was a farmer, who was mentally challenged and he committed suicide when I was 5-year-old boy. I have two sisters who are younger to me. Few years later my mother remarried. My stepfather was a drunkard. He quarrels with my mother. My sisters and I were afraid of him. Because of this, there was no peace and joy in my personal life and family. At that time, my own father’s brother who is a pastor took me to his home. He cared for my studies from the fifth class and provided for all my needs. He is a godly man who always wants me to walk with Jesus. But I was not interested in going church and doing other spiritual activities at home as well as church. I got involved in many bad friendships that led me to live a sinful life. I did not pay much interest in my studies also. I started to drink and smoke. I experienced joy and peace no longer in my life. But, on one Sunday, God spoke to me through a message, which enabled me to know that Jesus is the Savior. Then I confessed of my sins, and received Jesus as my personal Savior and obeyed the Lord’s commandment by taking water baptism in the year 1998. Then on, I began to live a real Christian life. Gradually, I was able to realize that I was chosen and called by the Lord for His ministry. Therefore, I joined with a reputed Missionary organization named Operation Mobilization India. I worked with this organization as a missionary for six years in different states of India. Besides this, I finished my Bachelor of Ministry course. The Lord gave me a desire to learn more about the Word of God. As a result, I studied Master of Divinity course in Gospel for Asia Biblical Seminary, Thiruvalla, Kerala, and completed in the year 2008. Then I worked as Kerala state leader for the Youth and Children Ministry of Believers Church India. God also helped me to train many young people for the missionary work by teaching Bible in Believers Church Bible School. By the grace of God, I was blessed with a suitable life partner in 2009 May 11. My wife’s name is Vidya. She too finished her Bachelor of Theology course (Senate of Serampore) and now studying for Master of Social Work (MSW). We are blessed with a baby boy on 17 April 2010, and baby girl on 2 February 2013. We named son as Daniel V. Santhosh and Sarah V. Santhosh is our daughter's name. At present, we serve the Lord as a family. And it is our prayer that we would
