He has obtained the "Ramón y Cajal" grant (2009), and has been awarded in 2013 by the Spanish Ministry of Economy with the "Intensification in research" mention (I3-materials engineering).
He is part of EU NANOFUTURES steering committee as Chairman of the Working Group on Critical Raw Materials. Member of the Strategic Expert Group (SEG) for M- ERANET - EU-Commission - and takes part of the Management Committee of EU COST CRM_EXTREME OC-2015-1-19345. Member of the international committee ISO/AENOR CTN 73 "Nuclear energy, nuclear technologies, and radiological protection". Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA-OECD).
