Greetings! Samuel A. ADESANWO is a final year student of Microbiology, digital technology enthusiast and a budding data analyst who is passionate about promoting sustainable development and causing great change in the Nigerian educational sector through social entrepreneurship. He started his social impact journey in 2018 when he joined one of the leading students' organisations (SDGs ACT LASU - Sustainable Development Goals Awareness Campaign Tour, Lagos State University) in the Lagos State University main campus. Months later, he was named an Ambassador for the goals (SDG) and appointed the executive role of the acting Administrative coordinator at the organization's investiture ceremony held in the early months of 2019.
In July 2019, he got selected as a Fellow and a Campus Director of 2019 Class for the United Nations Millennium Fellowship program which lasted from August 2019 to December 2019. https://www.millenniumfellows.org/2019/lasu/samuel-adesanwo. Under the auspices of Ambassador Kehinde Adebiyi (leading SDGs expert) led Administration of SDGs ACT LASU, Samuel promoted SDG 17 (Partnership for the goals) by partnering with some of the other millennium fellows in a walk of Advocacy for SDGs which impacted over 20,000 students at the Lagos State University, Nigeria. He earned a certificate recognizing his successful completion of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and Millennium Campus Network (MCN) Millennium Fellowship while also engaging in sessions to cultivate core values of empathy, humility & inclusion in Leadership and Social Impact.
In March 2020, after going through a rigorous application and interview process, he was selected as the Administrative Coordinator for SDGs ACT LASU. While remotely propagating the SDGs along with the SDGs ACT LASU community, Samuel took part in the data analytics Global Internship program for 2020 and was also selected to be a member of the United Nations Millennium Fellowship Global Admissions Committee for 2020.
In the digital and technological space, Samuel has been undergoing series of trainings and recently emerged as the second runner up in the Smart Learning Ideathon Program put forward by HP Foundation and Global Shapers Community in July 2020. The program convened and challenged digital technology enthusiasts across different levels in the education sector to come up with innovative solutions to the problem of Education in Nigeria.
