Born and raised in Omaha, I received my Bachelor's in Secondary Education with an English Language Arts endorsement in 1999 from Hastings College in Hastings, NE. After teaching English, Speech, and Drama at an elementary school and a junior/senior high, I went back to school to attain my Master's Degree in Secondary Education. While working on my Master's, I also earned endorsements in Library Media (K-12) and Instructional Technology (K-12). I was a school librarian at Arbor Park Intermediate School with Blair Community Schools in Blair, NE from 2004-2017. I provided library and research instruction, as well as technology instruction and support to both students and staff. I have been active in our state organizations and attend and present at conferences and workshops both locally and nationally. I received my Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with an emphasis School Libraries in May 2017. A cohort group of 17 educators from the east coast and midwest attended four school library focused classes together. This program was funded in part by a grant from the Institute of Library and Museum Sciences and is run by four professors from the Midwest and East Coast.
I specialize in instructional technology, school library, and reading topics and have worked on curriculum for library science and instructional technology leadership programs on the university level.
